City Center Park

City Center Park builds on Damon Farber’s previous work in downtown Silver Bay and brings to life a long-standing community vision. For decades, local plans have called for a central gathering space for events and everyday use. In collaboration with a committee of residents, we led a community-driven design process—translating a wide range of ideas into a unified concept through workshops and iterative feedback. The resulting park supports beloved traditions like Bay Days and the Music in the Park series, while introducing new opportunities for historic interpretation, play, and relaxation. Features include a terraced lawn and bandshell for public events, wooded walking trails along a restored creek, and a “historic walk” that traces the story of taconite refinement from raw material to steel. Our team also provided cost estimates and guidance on future maintenance needs to help support implementation.
