Blake is a landscape and urban designer and a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities. He earned his Master of Urban & Regional Planning and Master of Landscape Architecture degrees at the University of Minnesota with specializations in Heritage Studies & Public History and Ecological Restoration. He is driven by a sense of respect for his surroundings and a desire to help deepen our collective relationships with the places we live.
In his design and planning work, Blake aims to recognize and leverage the past, present, and potential futures of places as a foundational framework for shaping meaningful and livable environments. His experience spans a range of methods and scales of culturally-rooted landscape and urban design work, including vision planning, detailed design, on-the-ground engagement, and historical research. When tackling any plan or project, Blake believes that bold optimism, systems thinking, honest conversation, and open collaboration provides a path to successful and sustainable growth.
Blake's free time includes interacting with the world on foot, bike, scooter, ski, kayak, hammock, and many kinds of chairs. Someday, he might add a flying object to that list, too.
