The City of Wayzata wanted to develop a comprehensive wayfi nding plan that would communicate the vision of Wayzata to visitors and residents alike and enhance the overall movement. DFA worked with the City and stakeholder representatives to develop an organized and clear methodology for enhancing the City’s image as an accessible, attractive, and active destination. Clear, distinctive graphics were created to accomplish these things and provide information to access the many important points of Civic, Natural, Cultural and Economic elements. Traffi c patterns were simplifi ed by directing people and vehicles down the most desirable routes which should make the visitors’ experiences more memorable.

The signage will share a common palette of colors, fonts, materials, and graphics using cues from the surrounding architecture and landscape. The materials were carefully selected for their durability and relative ease of installation and maintenance.
