University of St. Thomas - Anderson Athletic & Recreation Complex

Damon Farber Associates, working closely with Opus Architects and Engineers, and the University of St. Thomas recently completed the new Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. Located in the heart of the historic St. Paul campus this new facility will greatly enhance UST’s athletic and recreation facilities.

Damon Farber Associates explored design alternatives to help mititgate this significantly large building and ensure that it did not over power the campus landscape. Along the West facade of the complex DFA worked with the Architects to develop design concepts for a new Veranda that now provides 300 premium seats perched above the Football Stadium. Designed in conjunction with the new Anderson Student Center the two projects will have a strong relationship to each other, the historic quadrangle, and the existing football stadium. Student circulation, fire truck access, outdoor event spaces, and low maintenance landscaping are all coordinated to ensure a successful addition to the campus.
