Damon
Farber Associates teamed with Paulsen Architects to assist Bethany
Lutheran College (BLC) on the development of a 10 and 25 year plan
for guiding future growth of the campus. Bethany is a small Lutheran
College on a bluff overlooking the Minnesota River in Mankato, Minnesota.
Historically, improvements to the campus had happened in an ad hoc
way. The BLC campus was not easily identifiable and no standards
were in place to guide future development of the campus.
Damon Farber Associates was charged with improving access to the
campus, enhancing the edges of the campus to improve identity within
the neighborhood, maintain the pedestrian character of the campus,
locate 2 new parking ramps to maintain direct access to campus and
minimize visual impact and to organize future academic, housing
and green space in a harmonious way. The result is a strategic
vision for future growth that reflects the unique qualities and
mission of Bethany Lutheran College.
